RDM Workshop in the Natural, Environmental, and Life Sciences

We would like to draw your attention to an advanced workshop on research data management being held at one of our partner universities. You can find more detailed information on participation and registration on the course website.

The course is aimed at doctoral students and postdocs in the natural, life, and environmental sciences who wish to address the organization, documentation, and publication of their research data - regardless of whether they are at the beginning of their project or have already collected and published data.

The focus is on the requirements of good scientific practice as well as the implementation of the FAIR principles, which ensure that research data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. Participants will receive practical guidance on structuring, describing, securely storing, and publishing their data, for example in repositories or data journals.

The workshop covers the following topics, among others:

  • Basic concepts in research data management
  • Documentation, data organization, and metadata
  • Storage and backup
  • Archiving
  • Publication and reuse of research data
  • Legal aspects
  • Data management plans
